With it, systems and machines can continue to operate or are properly shut down. Unplanned machine downtime is now a thing of the past. Another important application of an energy storage system is a process referred to as peak shaving, also known as load capping. The storage system provides electricity for peak loads so that it does not have to be drawn from the grid. This has a direct impact on the purchase price and increases the economic efficiency of the system.
